John MacKay Shaw at Special Collections

The John MacKay Shaw Collection at Florida State is vast, and is organized into six main themes: bibliography, biography, children, collecting, publishing, and writing. Within each division, sub-collections and sub-series exist, seeking to organize documents such as correspondence, business materials, autographed materials, work by those who utilized the collection, advertisements promoting Shaw’s work, films, photographs, and memorabilia. The collection constitutes of over 35,000 volumes and covers 69 feet of archival material.  Currently, 137 boxes of manuscripts, photos, and other non-published materials are available online. Online accessibility to the collection in full is a constant work in progress.
